Giving Tuesday Engage in Mission

ETH Missions DR would like to take the opportunity to Thank you for your partnership throughout this past year. Here is a seasonal update of the continued work in the Dominican Republic and an opportunity for you to continue or even begin in this journey with us to see the Love of Jesus be made known in the Dominican Republic.
THE GIFT OF WATER...Imagine never having running water in your home.    PHOTO :BOBBY BROWN PHOTOGRAPHY
Living in the heated Caribbean climate is something that sounds great to us especially this time of year. But our neighbors in Casandra face a very real challenge everyday one that we take for granted. Water. We all know how essential water is even in the winter. One very practical way ETH Missions DR is able to shine the Light of Jesus is to daily offer free water to the community from the deep well that is on the property of the mission base. So many families count on this convenient source of fresh water to carry out the daily routines and provide for the needs within their family. If you have a desire to help with this ministry please feel free to send in your donation with Water in the designation. Our monthly expense to keep the pump running and available for the community is $250.00 USD. We desire to upgrade the system to add more capacity and as funds come in we will also be able to increase the amount of time that the water is available each day.
John 4:13-14 NKJV
13
Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him iwill become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
BATEY CENTRAL CHURCH BUILDING PROJECT... A time to build a Church!!!
Pastor Wilkins who is also the Director at the Childrens School in Batey Central has become a vital part of God's handiwork in reaching into the heart of Batey Central with the Word of God and the Love and Hope that Jesus offers. As the School has grown and the doors are literally bursting forth it is time to construct a stand alone building that will be used solely for the Church that is in Batey Central. Please pray about organizing a team to come and Construct this facility in the Spring and Summer of 2016. The financial costs to get the materials for the footers foundation and walls will be $8,000.00 US DOLLARS. If you would like to designate a gift for this project please indicate BATEY CENTRAL CHURCH on your donation.
Wilkins faithfully teaches the Word of God to the Church that is in Batey Central.

Not too long ago there stood an empty shell of a school that had not seen a student or a teacher or even a formal lesson taught. ETH Missions DR has seen many trials come but with all of those trials and many opportunities to quit, we have also had the same amount of opportunities to continue. So once again as we brace for another year of dreams for the Batey Central community, and for the community of Cassandra (where the mission base is located) we are also faced with the opportunity to continue forward out into the uncomfortable areas where it is not easy. The places that seem empty but we know one day will be filled just as God was faithful to fill this little school with dreams and hope of a future and most of all relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Play pray about being a part of the future and the continuation of the work God has began in Barahona and into the uttermost parts of the world.
John 4:36-38

"Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. "For in this case the saying is true, 'One sows and another reaps.' "I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor."
Romans 10:14-15
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"
Partner with a Native Missions Family
The relationship with Ariel goes back a long ways to when Shawn had a youth group meeting in the back yard before we had the mission base. Ariel and his wife Lola were faithful attenders. Over the years we have seen Ariel grow in his relationship with God and his desire to serve God through Ears To Hear. As housing and utilities are provided for Ariel and his family would you consider a monthly donation to help support Ariel and his family as they serve full time as missionaries with Ears To Hear. If you would like to send a one time gift for his family for Christmas please indicate Gift for ARIEL or if you would like to sponsor his family with a monthly Donation please designate ARIEL in the memo.
Ariel and Lola Faithfully serve as the Watchman and Caretakers of the Mission Base in Barahona
ETH Missionary partner Wolfgang Grotendiek is blazing a Media Missions trail that could reach Thousands.
The Project:
1: A Spanish translation and recording production of The Gospel of John film.
2: A workbook in English and Spanish accompanying The Gospel of John film.
3: A DVD workbook in English and Spanish accompanying The Gospel of John film.
Background Information:
The universal worldwide rights to the 2003 Gospel of John film belonged to the Klemke Foundation. In 2015, these rights were given to Peter Terrell with the responsibility to translate the film into different languages. Peter Terrell is partnering with Wolfgang Grotendiek and Michael Kohan, whose focus is to create workbooks accompanying the film. (See below for more information on Peter, Wolfgang, and Michael.)
The English version of The Gospel of Johncan currently be accessed on YouTube.
Purpose:
As roughly 70% of the world’s population learns through oral methods, Christian films are a great tool for evangelism, to bring the Gospel to the illiterate and blind, and to strengthen and enlarge the church body. The 2003 Gospel of John film is a high-quality production that re-introduces the story of Christ from a slightly different platform than that of the popular 1979 Jesus film, which is most likely the most watched film worldwide. Translations of this project into different languages will open doors in reaching more people, newer groups of people, and people in different levels of society, with the focus being to bring the film to both developing and under-developed countries.
The purpose of an accompanying workbook is to teach the people about the cultural, historic, and spiritual background of Christ’s words and lessons. The workbook is designed as a discipleship workbook to give people a stronger connection to the Lord’s truth, which speaks equally to the mind, heart and conscience. It will be presented in common, practical language. It will emphasize how the truth is holistic and applies to the individual, the family, and the community.
Current Status:
Peter is finishing the recordings for the film in several native Mexican languages- Tzeltal, Ngiva, and Atzingo. He is working with Campus Crusade for Christ to reproduce the film in Columbian Spanish. Campus Crusade is re-dubbing their Spanish translation of the 1979 Jesus film and the idea is to have the same voices for the same characters portrayed in both films. Columbian Spanish is chosen because it is the clearest of the Spanish dialects. The Spanish recording for The Gospel of Johnwill begin in Bogota, Columbia in the spring of 2016 and is scheduled to finish by summer.
Wolfgang and Michael began working on the English workbook in September 2015. They are scheduled to finish by the summer 2016 and immediately begin the Spanish translation. DVD workbooks will follow the written translations and will be filmed and recorded on-site in Israel.
All fund-raising for these projects is the responsibility of Peter, Wolfgang, and Michael; however, Campus Crusade for Christ is willing to promote this project through their own network.
Estimated Costs:
Spanish translation and recording of the Gospel of John film: $54,000
Accompanying workbook in English: $24,000
Spanish translation of the workbook: $5,000
English DVD workbook, including filming in Israel: $46,000
Spanish DVD workbook recording: $14,000
Consulting team: $ 8000
Total Cost: $ 151,000
